The Diggers Union Mission Statement

Diggers Union is a family of music connoisseurs who have made a lifelong commitment to accumulate and preserve recorded music.  Immeasurable amounts of time and money go into our research to separate the honorable from the horrible.  We are here to enjoy and educate, be it through media, speech, etc. to ensure fans that their horizons are constantly being broadened.  With the vast amount of music being released consistently, it can be quite a challenge to keep up; but rest assure Diggers Union will accomplish the goal of being as informative as possible.  Think of it as “Collecting Done Correctly”.

It’s an honor to be apart of a well respected team of music connoisseurs/mixtapeologists whom i have the utmost respect for.

I just want to say thanks the DJ UNEXPECTED & HEVEHITTA for breaking bread with The Thieves Theme/DJ Books. We gotta keep moving. We also wanna thank all the supporters of The Thieves Theme Mixtapes for without y’all none of this would be possible.  Aight…time to put in more work…more grinding…we gotta keep movin!!!!

R.I.P. KEITH ELAM a.k.a. THE GURU OF GANG STARR

The Gang Starr man battled cancer… 10:29, Tuesday, 20 April 2010 Influential rapper Guru has died aged 43, after a battle with cancer. The New York born MC had suffered cardiac arrest on March 2 and was in a coma for some time A statement said: “Guru has passed away yesterday morning (April 19) after a long battle with cancer.“According to (producer) Solar, Guru suffered from the malicious illness for over a year and after numerous special treatments under the supervision of medical specialists failed, the egendary MC succumbed to the disease. Guru always tried to keep this harrowing diagnosis in private but in early 2010 he had to admit himself to hospital due to serious effects caused by the disease.” Guru became famous after teaming up with DJ Premier in group Gang Starr. The duo released six studio albums between 1989 and 2003 and became famous for making “conscious rap” before splitting under acrimonious circumstances. Since then Guru had released a series of ‘ Jazzmataz’ albums where he teamed up with classic jazz, soul and hip hop artists. He also continued to tour the world with a band and producer Solar.

Our condolences go out to all his family and all his fans….thanx for all the great music GIFTED UNLIMITED RHYMES UNIVERSAL. R.I.P. KEITH ELAM

KANYE WEST WORKING W/RZA, PETE ROCK, Q-TIP ON “GOOD ASS JOB” (MUSIC NEWS)

Kanye West has been shying away from the limelight for months now, ever since the infamous VMAs stage crashing incident in September. But, he’s been using his time wisely. The rapper/producer has been hard at work on his next album, Good Ass Job.

According to a report from Billboard, West has been holed up in his Diamond Head, Hawaii home and recording studio, where he’s been working with the likes of Q-Tip, RZA and Pete Rock.

While nothing is confirmed, the guests were unveiled via updates on Twitter, placing both RZA and Pete Rock in Hawaii.

RZA appeared onstage at a Nas concert in Honolulu on March 19, and a tweet from former Senior VP of A&R at LOUD Records, Schott Free, suggested that Pete Rock was in Hawaii with Kanye as well.

On March 9, Free tweeted at Pete Rock this message:, “Enjoy Hawaii, I’m sure you and Kanye’ are killing it” and then followed with: “@QtipTheAbstract on his weezy! Hot.”

While the producer denied, via a Twitter response, he had been working with Kanye, calling his trip “just a vacation,” he mentions a secret project that he says to keep under wraps.

“Pls dont mention that on here scott, it’s all goody, but I gotta keep a closed lid on it! PR,” Pete Rock wrote (@ChocBoyWunda).

Tip confirmed he has been working with Kanye in a recent interview with Brooklyn Bodega.

At press time, further info about West’s next solo album was unknown. However, G.O.O.D. Music recording artist Big Sean says Good Ass Job is due sometime in June.
